Well, Pirates opens tonight; I wish we had just one more rehearsal. I probably say that for every show I do, but this time we really need it. Kevin said they sent him different keyboard parts instead of the orchestra parts, and then he had my old email address on his phone and he was trying to use that, so that didn't work. So it's not just me that's going crazy trying to learn the music in a few days. I did manage to make it to all the rehearsals this week though, even in the snow storm. What can I say, I like living on the edge. XD
It'll be what it'll be I guess. I'm going to wear my pirate hat too; it'll be fun!

I just got an email from Kevin; apparently they do still want me to play for Pirates! So I will get the music and go to rehearsal for a while tonight...I have exactly four days to learn the music. Eep. O_O Good thing I've seen it and at least have a vague idea of how the songs go!

Today is when I go play at the nursing home, this afternoon. I have a piano player, but she's not able to play all the songs I wanted to do. Well let's get this shit overwith.

I got a call this morning asking me to play at my dad's nursing home again. Of course I agreed; I just don't know what I'm going to play, and I still have no accompanist. Why do I do these things? Sigh. -_-;;
I suppose I'll just play what I did in New Orleans. That means I actually have to practice again.

Three more concerts, and then I'm done for the year. Monday night is municipal band at St. Benedict's care center, Thursday is our campus band concert--which I'm trying to find out if it will be online; I noticed the camera was not there at all last night at rehearsal. Also I will be reading an introduction to "the Belle of Chicago"; it's a funny thing and I probably won't be able to do it with a straight face.
Then next Monday is our municipal band Christmas concert at the Whitney center.

Nothing much else to report on. I'm ready for this year to be over!!

Well, that sucked.

Our online Dixieland band concert last night was an epic fail. The camera wasn't working right, and there was no sound apparently. The tech guy who was running the camera didn't show up until about 15-20 minutes before we were supposed to start. Then Glen couldn't get the email account to which people were supposed to send requests and comments to to work.

I say it needs a do-over, but we'll probably have to wait until next semester for that.

Afterward most of us went to Cold Stone Creamery; ice cream makes everything better. ^_^

Mark and Lizzie are going to England for next semester (jealous!!), so I might be the new leader.

Our campus band concert is December 8th; hopefully they get the camera and sound fixed by then.

I just got a letter from the Utah Symphony saying I didn't get an audition. Well, at least now I know. Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

Random funny:

Last night as I was coming home, the song "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry came on the radio; I hate it, so I changed the station. It starts out with the guy going "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH" or something. I push the button for another station and the "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin came on that.

So it came out sounding like this:

I laughed. XD

Good news! Mark said Joe will be at the concert, so I didn't have to play piccolo. XD

I will need to do some practicing this week though. We are playing The Cowboys; I'd still rather play Harry Potter, but I think it will be OK.
